While it still makes some sound, I wouldn't buy this to play unless you can restore it. This is more for a collector or museum wishing to display this item since it does have some issues.
First the baffles do have some holes, The valves are not complete with two of them missing piece to cover the hole. Does have some corner and edge wear.
With that said I have no clue who made it or when though my guess is maybe the 40's or 50's from aging but could be years earlier since I can't find another one like it anywhere online. If you have more information you wish to share if you know more about it please drop me a message always willing to learn about it or other items.
The box is about 8 1/2' Long and 6" wide when closed.
